These puppies are Designer Dogs, a Hybrid cross of Shih-Tzu and Maltese. They are called MalShi's.
Our babies see a Licensed Veterinarian within 24 hours of being born. They are seen again around 5 days old, they have their dewclaws removed at that time and also have another thorough check-up by our Veterinarian. They receive their first set of vaccinations at 6 weeks of age, which are also done by the veterinarian. I do not cut my costs by doing their vaccinations or dewclaws myself. Everything pertaining to these areas are done by a licensed veterinarian. I feel that these pups are in the best hands being given their vaccinations and having their dewclaws removed by a person that went to school to learn how to do these things. Therefore I pay the extra cost to take them to a person that has attended school in this field, so that I am assured, and also that you are assured all of these things have been done correctly.
All of our babies are registered with the ACHC, and will come with a pedigree. Also they have their dewclaws removed. They will be current on vaccinations, when purchaser receives their pup the purchaser will be responsible for all vaccinations due after the date of pick-up. All of my babies are very well socialized! I have 3 children that give them plenty of love and attention! As well as my husband who plays with them just as much as the rest of us. We also have cats and large dogs, so these little ones are used to all of these things. The pups also are around all the aspects of daily life, vacuums, washing machines and all kinds of noises, and plenty of visitors! They are very well rounded little ones!
Also I offer shipping at the buyers expense, where available. Shipping is $300.00, payable at the time of purchase of your puppy.
WHY PEOPLE BREED DESIGNER/HYBRID DOGS:
The point to Designer/Hybrid dogs is to breed the bad genes out of the two breeds of dogs used for Designer/Hybrid mix. A TRUE Designer/Hybrid dog is bred from 2 Purebred dogs, for instance a MalShi is a Hybrid cross of a purebred Maltese and a purebred Shih-Tzu, a Labradoodle is a Hybrid cross of a purebred Labrador and a purebred Standard Poodle, etc.... A true Designer/Hybrid is NOT a cross of a Malshi and a Maltese, or a Malshi and a Shih-Tzu, or a cross of a female and male Malshi. The parents have to BOTH be Purebred dogs. Animal Planet did a show on Designer/Hybrid dogs, they stated on the show that if you breed 2 Hybrids, you actually breed the genetic problems back into the puppy, and instead of genetic issues from one breed of dog, you get the genetic issues from both breeds. If you are looking into buying a Designer/Hybrid pup from ANYONE, not just us, please be sure you are getting what you pay for!! There are alot of breeders and greedy people out there that breed these Designer/Hybrid dogs the wrong way, the cheap way, so they can maximize profits!! BEWARE OF BAD BREEDERS!! Bad breeders are out there in abundance unfortunately!! Ask ALOT of questions, and stay away from the people that do not want to answer your questions or send you pictures of the parents or pups!! The last sentence of advice comes from my experience when I bought my dogs, who were all bought online from different breeders in different states!!! If you have any questions I will do my best to answer them, even if you do not get a pup from us, so please always feel free to contact me!!
Our thoughts on Hybrid Puppies
First and foremost, a healthy puppy must be the #1 goal in all breeders minds, when breeding dogs, purebred or hybrid.
In today's dog world, it is becoming more difficult to buy a healthy purebred dog. But this is an area that no dog owner or breeder should ever settle on as normal, when given the option to buy a truly healthy dog. Many breeders will breed an unhealthy AKC registered purebred dog only because they have a pedigree, completely ingnoring the fact that it is a moral crime to do so. In short I believe that if both perspective parents are in perfect health in body and mind, each parent dog can contribute great qualities to the puppy by providing a diverse gene pool rather than inbred, this is why I feel raising hybrids is a wonderful idea within the hands of knowledgeable and dedicated families.
